Removed the ICV last night, it was quite dirty even after thoroughly cleaning it a year ago.
Wasn't fully gummed up, but dirty enough to slow its movement. Gave it a good clean and its moving freely...

Idle control valve mechanically stuck

Got the "engine fail safe programme" with trifecta of lights twice today during the same journey.

Ignition off and on again cleared the trifecta but check engine light and fail safe remained.

Fitted a new BMW brake switch at the pedal and all seems well now.

Not sure if the old one was failing or the adjustment had been disrupted, but so far so good with the new switch :thumbup:
