The trailer module only provides lights and certain programming functions.

What it does not provide is brake control, if you tow heavier trasilers.

You will need a brake controller for that...

When my X5 throws mis-fire codes, and I have the Peake connected while running, clearing the codes makes it run much better.

I'd be wary of using the Shell Oil. The ZF 6 speed trans in my 2004 specifies ZF LifeGuard 6 fluid, and there are no substitutes spec'd that I'm aware of.
