Personally i wouldnt mess with it....i think it's good to have more backpressure for low end and less for high rpm...e.g. dynamic exhaust flow...and dont really see any downside to the design...and...

Yeah, it's a pisser....i love the torque of the diesel and would get it again w/o worry...that being said the higher price of fuel does make the gassers look good...

Welcome aboard! I'm a noob as well (2 months with the x5d)...all i can say is it's a great vehicle and we're very happy with it. It's a diesel so getting extra power is easy, but as for any car now...

Read the fine print....i know it's not the same, but my dodge dealer sold Superchips programmers for their trucks....but the fine print said it is not backed by dodge and that warranty wouldnt cover...

As far as i know there's a few ways programmers / tuners can increase power in a diesel...Rail Pressure, Boost, Timing, Tq Mgmt Manipulation (programmer on my truck dose all of these).....all of them...

From what i've seen the JBD and similiar for the x5 over here are pretty mild...and obviously that can make a big difference in overal impact on the vehicle reliability,...the max HP tuners can...
