Interesting about the difference in seats. I don't think BMW changed anything across the E53's, at least the sport versions should be identical up to '06. Post some pics when you get the inserts...

Plus I think you'd need a torque wrench that goes to 500+ lbs, in order to get 300 accurately. This one might have to be a bit of guesswork to DIY.

I get about 1 MPG less with the Falken Wildpeaks on (17.0 MPG mostly highway vs 18.0 on all-seasons).

Surprisingly, refreshing the suspension improved fuel economy quite a bit.

Sorry that I didn't see your message earlier. Yes, zero rubbing whatsoever, even with 4 people in the car or mild off-roading. The Falkens do produce quite a bit of road noise for me though.

I have the 4.4 and it's noticeable but no complaints. There's a big increase in road noise, and it's harder to balance the heavy all-terrains so I would take it to a quality tire shop for mounting.

The overlanding trend has made 12v car fridges super reliable and cheap. They're also super efficient, so if you need to keep something frozen while the car is off, it won't drain your battery...

Thanks! I believe the sedan versions came in 8", except the 7 series which had 8.5's in the back. The first gen X5 came with square 8.5's all around.

I am running 265 Falken Wildpeaks on style 69's, which are 8.5" across. If you had 8" wheels I'd say go for it, but a full inch difference might be pushing it. Not sure if this helps at all.
