So glad to hear you found one, and at 150k it honestly is just broken in! I see it could use lower mesh grilles (holes in them) and I'm sure a few other cosmetic odds and ends, and a good detailing job, but other than that she looks great!

The sluggishness could be from not doing a CDV delete, or at your mileage you may be getting due for VANOS seals as well.

yes, it has nav but the lower left portion of the screen is dead where it shows the time... so i dunno what to do. maybe sell off that and the disc changer and get an aftermarket android unit. not sure yet and in no rush.

and yes to everything else. there are a handful of cosmetic issues but nothing major. the interior it grey grey grey. i think i'm gonna dream up a way to darken it. not the seats but maybe i can find a doner with black interior and swap out the carpet or some various plastic pieces. maybe get some black door cars and the swap the leather to the grey and have a two tone look. it's nice but just way to grey. (again i've always had black interior so maybe it will grow on me.)

first just gotta get some miles on her and make sure everythign mechanically is sound.

not looking forward to taking the bumper off, such a pain for me on any car really. just get fustrated cause it always takes way longer for me than i know it should.

You can get a replacement screen for about $100, the swap is easy, takes about 30-45 minutes.

If you go aftermarket, don't cheap out. The Dynavin seems to be the way to go, many kind reviews on here. Not many for the cheaper units.

^This. I would just replace the screen for now. The Dynavin is great but its another 600 bucks. Plus the whole issue with it booting up every time you open the doors would really annoy me when cleaning or working in the car. I don't have factory nav so I still may get one but if I had factory nav I'd update the firmware on the unit to latest version, get updated maps, replace the screen and just add a usb interface for ipod/iphone

+1

Exactly what I did right after I got my X5. The mediabridge from Dice/Audiovox took care of Aux, USB and BT-Audio.

booting up when you open the doors? WTF?

maybe i'll leave it and just add a small sub. i did it in my last e53 with good results. and i'll also look into updating the firmware / maps.

You can get the maps on eBay for sub $15, and the software is free to download.
