I'm on version 4-1/60 i think it said which is probably what came with the X. i just called my dealer and they passed me around a few times. i'll prob just swing down there one day and talk to a tech. maybe there are other software update for my car...

unless i buy one on ebay. looks like the latest is 32.2 but it said it has a custom ///M splash which i don't want.

also the 2015 USA dvd's are on there for 10-20 bucks depending if you want east / west coast or both.

thanks for the reply, i'll definitely take a look. my map disc is from 2005 so i wonder what the latest version is. ill just check on ebay.

I'll see what version I'm on, def not the latest, then find it for download online... only issue is i dont have a CD burner haha.

Latest BMW Navi OS is V32 for Mk4 unit.

Latest Maps is DVD based, EAST and WEST. Each disc can be had for 8.88 shipped from eBay. The seller I purchased from sent me additional disc with latest firmware (V32 custom, with ///M splash, nightmode etc) without having to ask. eBay item - 171823536796 or direct New 2015 BMW East Navigation Map Update DVD High GPS System 2014 | eBay

You can get both stock and modified files from BMW Navigation Files @ neiloakley.com

You can flash the version that suits your taste after burning onto a CD, DVD not needed for firmware as it fits CD

Exactly what I did right after I got my X5. The mediabridge from Dice/Audiovox took care of Aux, USB and BT-Audio.

Haven't needed to replace my nav screen but I upgaded to the MKIV nav unit, the latest software and already had the mediabridge with Sirius option.

thank you very much. I bought the NAV DVD from that guy, and will see if i can't get my neighbor to burn a CD for me. I see that the modified Version has speed camera alerts and night mode as well. i wonder what that's like. maybe worth it even though i dont want the ///M

The 32.2 software I purchased has night mode and M and options of voice you want to hear. The M logo is not visible long enough to matter one way or the other.

I didn't want the M splash screen either, but it is only for a couple seconds.

This is something I've been wanting to do also - update the software on my Mk IV Nav system. Is there a specific process involved once you download and burn the newer version to a CD? Would I be better off buying the software on CD already and if so, where can I get it? My system still has the original software, or so I believe (version 12) and it looks like it belongs on a Nintendo or Commodore 64...

i'm playing with NavTweak now, gonna edit the Nightmode one and put on a generic logo for the splash. wish me luck.

once done i'll post it to the web somewhere.
