I bought a pair via Amazon for about $50. Fantastic. 6/10 difficulty to install mostly because the lower screw is impossible to access and on both sides there is some other hardware in the way. Look for a YouTube video how-to. Recommend getting low K white point. 5000K or lower. Anything higher eliminates depth perception, kinda important.

Go for the nightbreakers. Skip the cool blue crap.

^He's asking about real HID bulbs, not the cool blue-tinted crap bulb you thought about.

Quicksilve, Osram makes quality bulbs. I didn't have personal experience with them but I didn't see complaint about them. Package of 2 is a better price. We replace them in pair anyway.

QS, do you NEED the 5k color? Personally I can't stand anything else but 4300K temp now to get the most lumens.

I'd recommend the Nightbreakers, $120 shipped is a SCREAMING price for them, and does that coupon code on the site work on them too?

OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited D2S (Twin) | PowerBulbs

If so, don't walk, run to checkout and get those now! They are approx 15-20% brighter than OEM Philips/Osram bulbs, at the same 4300K temp.

Quicksilver 10-05-2015 09:46 AM

RB, It is an interesting choice. The first link I sourced is misleading. The box says 5000K. The specs info says 4800K. Sometime I hate the internet. Your link doesn't list the Kelvin. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ricky Bobby 10-05-2015 09:58 AM

Nightbreakers are 4300K (stock xenon color temp)

Confirmed I just checked the coupon code in cart, it WORKS: So you can get the Nightbreaker D2S pair delivered for $96 - For comparison, the lowest price I've been able to find on OEM Philips/Osram is about $80 delivered for a pair.

TRS sells Nightbreakers and CBI bulbs for about $185-190 a pair

Sorry about that. I was actually referring to my links.
Wasn't doubting your source at all. Thanks again.

^Powerbulbs is a GREAT site, their pricing on CBI's and Nightbreakers (and considering you can use a coupon code for 20% off too!) is excellent, let me know how you do and what you go with.
