Well, there's our solution. Just don't stop, easy!
Great, now I need to look into that. I don't want to carry gravel around in the X. :)

I'm thinking because of great tires but if I needed, I'd just disable the dsc by holding the button down till it flashed and stayed on. I so far, haven't had the need.

I went off the Interstate at 70mph in the rain in my 3.0. I ended up stuck to the (little black) running boards in the middle of the median. I called for a ticket and a tow and then started calling the folks I was supposed to meet a few hours away. That gave time for the mud to come back around the tires and I went old school redneck on it.

I rocked that thing back and forth enough that one of the first things I did was service the transmission fluid when I got home. I was sending four rooster tails of mud from the median all the way to the Interstate. But I got out. Mud was everywhere. It was so bad that I pulled off the next exit (towards home- screw work) and pulled mud off the windows.

It was one of the moments that endeared me to the 3.0. Sure, we went in together, but I felt like it was the biggest reason we got out. Two hours of solid rain at Interstate speeds and my lil 3.0 still looked like this.

It's a Wavetrac. I didn't have the knowledge to install it and so now I'm gearing up for that.

I've run a Quiaffe that Brett Anderson did for me over 10 years ago in my 540. I freakin love the thing. I have yet to consider one for the X5, but if I have a problem, you can sure bet that I'll be looking for Brett again.

I've decided to make a dyno run on the 4.4 tune before the software flash. It seems only fair.

Then, DUDMD can use Terraphantm's data to flash my DME and after the adaptation, we'll see what's up!

Bring kleenex, there's a lot of that going around.

I'm picking up a new O2 sensor to install tonight and tomorrow I'll see if there's a slot I can fill on the Dyno.

I don't want crappy air/fuel ratios screwing up my baseline.

"Stupid is as stupid does"
So, "bank 1" is the passenger side, (why can't it be labeled Port and Starboard like on boats and planes? It makes it fool proof. The diagram just says Right or Left side) I get that but I must have looked at the wrong diagram and ordered the downstream sensor. Not much of a problem except the connector is different front vs back. I found the correct one at a local parts store. Now I'm ready to dyno tomorrow.

In the meantime:

It feels different, sounds different too. It feels like each gear has the punch of the lower subsequent gear from before the swap and pulls with a more even torque curve (butt dyno, I know) just saying it feels like there's something good under your foot as you curl your toes on the pedal. I like it.
