Just keep it in manual mode, shift up to 2 yourself and 3 yourself, but don't let it go to dead stop from there. You need to be able to roll it out.

I feel a little odd about this thread now. I originally started it because it had to do with the 4.6is motor but now it feels like my 2nd e39 thread. I have one on bimmerforums. I don't want to take away from the sav forum community.

I'll try to post only about the motor from now on.
I'll keep watching the forum for e53 stuff for the wife's ride and if I can add but this one will be mostly performance based info regarding the 4.6is.

Sounds good what kind of mufflers if any are you running on the wagon? An M5 badge on a wagon with a 4.6 ouch!!!! I like 546it sport is definitely more fitting for this vehicle.

Don't you "ouch" me. By the time I'm done this will toast an M5. I bought the car this way. It was made to look like the one in Munich minus the euro lights which I'm always on the lookout for if the price is right.

It's an M-sport so minus the engine, manual gear box and gaudy interior its as M as they came and now even closer.

No mufflers just an M5 resonator and an "h" pipe (rather have an "x" pipe)
