Update - Well, these headlights are disappointing. I take it all back about the brightness, they're horrible. The adjuster screws are junk, strip out easily and i think the cutoff shield fell off the right side, it lost the "line" and was a blob of light. Oh, and to top it all off - It rained today, this happened on both assemblies. Ugh, they're going back.

I also have an extra set of the halogen projectors for these headlights if you want them. :lmao:

I haven't had a problem with my adjusters with my pair. I've taken them apart 4 times now and they still work like new, and I've never greased them. The condensation is an easy fix too if you get some butyl glue and lay a new bead on the c-channel when you bake the lens back onto the housing.

I'm patiently waiting for my LED halos to show up so I can finally get these things off my workbench and back onto the X5.

Haha.. Nah, I'm not giving up - but this pair is obviously a lemon. The first clue I had was when it came, the outside box was in good shape, the 2 inside boxes had been retaped. I bet these were someone else's return :/

These are going back - and I'm awaiting another set. First thing I'll do is bake them open and go through them - reseal with butyl rope. Now's the time to start looking through some threads for the xenon projector retrofit. Link?

I believe the Evo XR projectors bolt right in to those spyder housings. That's what I plan on going with.

Just last night I was reading that.(xenon projector) the Guy used a Audi A5 projector, and chane the position of the small actuator inside. It's pretty good diy. I'm on my phone if I find it when I get home I will tag the link here

Evo-X projectors (and the E55 and RS6 projectors the Evo-X replaced) are drop in replacements on the Spyder headlights. They are also bi-xenon projectors so you have the option to have quad high beams if you splice the solenoid wires into the high beam wires.

Search posts made my me, X5SND or Ricky Bobby for more information. There are plenty of threads outlining what the do's/don'ts are. If I manage to get my halos in before my winter break is over, I'm making a DIY video on how to do a retrofit.

The EvoXR's DO bolt right in (obviously test them for sharpness and alignment before bolting them in the housing). If you have them open, and have factory xenons, they are definitely what you should go with.

Tecn1k - do me a solid and double check your turn signal sockets on those lights - when my retrofit was complete, the one side was fogging up on me at the first sign of rain. I thought the turn signals were snugged in place and locked in position, but my turn signal socket was 1/4 turn off from its "sealed" position, once I did that, its rained a million times and not a hint of moisture. And to be honest it wasn't noticeable at all that the socket was not in place, it was tight against the housing.

You would be surprised, the smallest pressure differential can make them fog up, your moisture looks like mine did. Once I fixed that, all the fogging was gone by the next morning and never returned.

Another tip, with these lights, swap over as many parts from your stock lights as you can (gaskets, bulb covers, vents, ballast tray, etc) as most of the parts swap over from the OEM lights - the self level motors for example will bolt right up.

Also, never had problems with the adjusters on mine, they looked to work as well as factory for me, we unscrewed them all the way as well to remove the projectors when I did the retrofit - Tip is to use the proper sized allen wrench on the adjusters, don't use a philips head screwdriver

Good news... seller refunded my money. Already bought another set and it's on the way. Better news.. seller told me to keep the old ones.. looks like I have a spare test mule set now.

^^^THIS IS AWESOME! Open up the "defective set" and retrofit them with EvoXR's
