I've watched the videos and am going to give it a try on the truck before taking the emblems off. I am still fairly skeptical as I have always debadged in order to paint emblems. We'll see.
Good luck to you O3X5. Hope you have better results this time. |

I plasticoated my emblems on the vehicle. Should'n't need 4 coats but more generally peels cleaner. I used an Xacto knife to lift an edge at the emblem. Harder to get it right coming from the outside in. Did take lots of patience but I didn't find it difficult. To get a clean edge at the turns I just lightly pierced the coating to get it started in the new direction.

an extra coat doesn't hurt. yea I'll be using a razor to break seal so it doesn't lift it off the emblem itself & a toothpick for the 5.

not as clean as I hoped for but good enough for me, some minors scratches which I'm sure compound will take care of.

Just finished the 3.0 badges. I have one more piece to dip but that's going to be a secret for now because I think I might be the first one to do it.
It's going to look sick though I'll say that! |
^dude, they dip entire cars nowadays. There is nothing on a car that has never been dipped before. :p:
Anyway, so let's see it when it's done. :D |
I mean on the e53 x5's
