The new Avin Avant 3 claims to be DSP compatible. But it is twice the cost of the Seicane.

I think the only appeal to the Dynavin is the plug and play for people with DSP. I'd like to do what Crowz did but as far as I know its not possible if you have DSP.

According to Seicane their unit is plug and play with DSP. If that is the case I have done something wrong. I feel sure I can find a way to get the unit to work with DSP since I have had sound for 20 seconds before the system notices the loop is not complete and shuts off the amp. It wants to see all the original components. I'm not there yet but I think anyone that is experienced with car audio equipment would have had it up and running long before now.

With a mid unit I have put my Seicane in an e39 with dsp and it worked by powering one wire in the dash harness. It will be different if the vehicle has factory nav and I have no way of testing that as my factory nav x5 doesn't have dsp.

I thought every Nav E53 and E39 had DSP? Odd.

Anyway, if it ever stops freakin snowing, we'll have our pick. Pre-facelift DSP, non-Nav... *or* Post facelift DSP, Nav.

We aim to please! :D

Mine was nav without dsp luckily :)

I just discovered this a few minutes before you posted this haha, thanks so much though! That looks to be the direction I will be going. It's rather expensive (same as Dynavin N7 though) but by the time I went with the Seicane, + the ibus adapter + app + 5 channel amp and the guy to install that properly to avert the DSP system, I'd be pretty close to the price of the Avin Avant 3, and or Dynavin N7. The thing I don't like about the Dynavin N7 is the interface..seems like you cant just run google maps on it like you could the "stock" android the Avin seems to run.

Note: My vehicle has the factory nav + DSP, so I dont have a MID unit I can just tuck away.

Best of luck, I hope you can figure it out. I'm no car audio guru, I can fumble my way through it though haha. My understanding regarding Seican's claim for DSP compatibility is as it says on their site

"...
4.For cars with screen and DSP, this unit can support original car’s DSP after 2001.

Even though your car’s DSP does not work, the sound quality of the unit is still very good. It has built-in amplifier and this amplifier can drive four speakers of your original car (FL, FR, RL, RR).If you need all the speakers work, you can add an amplifier. This way of installation is relatively complicated and not totally plug-and-play."

I have sent a message to them, awaiting reply, regarding this, if I get any good information, I'll report back here. But, The way I read that (and again, I'm no authority) is that its going to merge your signals, so it wont be able to separate highs and lows to the appropriate speakers (tweeter/mid) without a crossover or something. But what I'd be mostly concerned with is weather or not it would drive the factory sub.

P.S. Sorry, I'm new here so I don't mean to step on toes of someone who knows all about this stuff!

Not to worry, there's usually no way of knowing if a member is knowledgeable or not. Some take issue some don't, never know. Can always ask for forgiveness.

I upgraded the speakers and sub. Sub has a dedicated amp.

I've given up trying to communicate with Seicane. The answers to my questions have been for someone else's question.

Between input here and elsewhere there will be a way to get the system to work with DSP amp. New goal is to be up and running by the end of the coming week.

Will be working on it some this afternoon.
