much appreciated.

BTW, the ebay link looks like one for a Calsonic Kansei CSV717 which is the OE variable displacement compressor. IIRC the standard non-variable compressor for the older E53's was a Denso. |
Oh boy. Good to know.

but the pic looks like a conventional, and the seller probably doesn’t even know what he’s got , considering he states it’s for a V6... Variable displacement compressors are generally expensive. |

In one of the pics you partly see the variable displacement valve at the rear of the compressor. Year model range looks about right, IIRC they got phased in at about the facelift or a bit before. Good call on the price, it looks too low even for a used take-off. There are fakes of that, I am kinda getting the China vibe from that ad. |
Quick update...
I ordered the compressor, so I'm ready to replace it as soon as I need, but after this couple of weeks, the old compressor is working much, much better, I turn on the car, and rev it a couple of times and the air starts cooling, so yes, obviously the fix, is to swap the compressor, but if budget is tight, the ICE-32 seems to make a huge difference, although it took a couple of weeks to make a more significant difference. |
Hmm. I might try that ice.

Ok gents. Had it purged and refilled today. Drove around a while. Eventually the AC stopped cooling as it always done.
So does this mean I have to replace the compressor? Is there another option before full on compressor replacement? Maybe clutch replacement or something like that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
AC Takes forever to blow cold.
Get a high/low pressure reading. Did you hold the vacuum for a good while before refilling?
Does it blow cold after resting then get warm after ten minutes? |
AC Takes forever to blow cold.
I don't know. I had a shop do it.
They just evac'ed the system and refilled. Yes, it blows cold after it's been parked a while. That's what it's been doing. Sometimes 10 minutes of driving sometimes much more. Seems totally random. But eventually it just stops cooling. Almost like you hit the AC button and left the fans on. He didn't say anything was out of the ordinary. It was cooler than normal for the temp I set it at, than it was before the refill. Should I try this shit? https://youtu.be/6PZHHtNWIHI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
