Depending on if this silicone coupler can stretch a bit, then I found a great candidate...
92.1mm so it would have to stretch a little bit...

I know it's the same MAF part number and air intake tube is also same part...

That looks promising!

And you said you already had the Dinan cai, so it's possible that you will notice a difference because I bet the air velocity is higher on the Dinan pipe vs the factory "rippled" pipe.

2" (50.8mm) length, 3.625" (92.1mm) diam ordered from above website. I could find NOTHING locally. this is an oddball size really.
now i sit and wait for delivery...
It only cost me $27 CAD (plus $100 CAD for E70 TB part) so its not too expensive of a science project. if I end up modifying the 95mm end of air tube (trimming it down to 92-93mm)... thats when it gets expensive, if I need to go back to factory designed air tube as they are a costly bit, for being a plastic tube.

I heard that! Definitely avoid that if you can and I'll cross my fingers that the silicone tube you have ordered has enough stretch to do the job.

Thinking out loud (again) if the silicone tube doesn't work out maybe you could do a thin layer of rubber "weatherstripping" around the flange of the tb and bring it up to the diameter of the stock air pipe??

Or use a couple/few large diameter o-rings to help make a seal for testing...

GOOD LUCK!!

spoke with the seller today and they said they shipped the product on June 5 and that it was stuck at the border till june 10 and now its stuck elsewhere according to how they tracked it... I was not given a tracking number so I will take their word for it.
He told me to call them tomorrow IF I do not get it by tonight and he will investigate by other means.
I asked if they send drugs in the package with the tube and his comment was they were not, anymore :)
Nice guy, I Have to say. Just very thrown off by 3 weeks to get it to me. Hell I get stuff from Latvia much faster by snail mail.

So you're the other fella that buys Beemer parts from Latvia...

I'm actually waiting on parts from Latvia right now - intercooler and EGR/intake gaskets. Can't believe the good deals you can get from the dealers in Riga.
