Here is a post of one of our members using the Seicane units. If you have DSP, it is tricky to say the least but will work if you install it correctly. Just make sure you order the unit for all the options you have. (Nav, DSP, etc)

This is over 100 pages so it will familiarize you with the correct and incorrect ways of installing. Have fun!

I am one that has had an extremely difficult time getting the Seicane unit to perform as advertised. I did the initial install last November and still have not been able to play DVDs. It took months and a custom audio shop and about $400 to get the DSP sorted out. Seicane assistance was worthless. I have gone around the same circle of worthless input to resolve the DVD problem with Seicane 3 times. They just asked me to send them a video demonstrating the problem which I have already sent them 2 other times. It takes at least two days to get a response due to time difference and it comes from sales person not a tech. Worst of all english is clearly not their second language.

I like the unit and the sound is a big improvement but IMO unless you can find someone here that has done an install using the same unit you purchased and your model and year X5 or you have lots of experience with audio systems it is a high risk DIY project.

My experience is just one example. Others have not had any problem. Each of the aftermarket offerings have different features. I think the Android based units have the greatest versatility because of the apps. Do the research and choose largely on the features that are most important to you. In my case the important input is I really like everything about the unit. If you check and you like what Seicane has to offer I would see what audio shops are around that are familiar with unit as a backup plan so any help you might need is not dependent on Seicane.
