Abha look fun but the asphalt here is made from crude oil and is slicker than snot on a glass doorknob.

You can see my hood in the pics, but in the Middle East you never want to be a pedestrian especially as an infidel. You will be run over.

Need more pics!! I can’t get my head around the temperatures over there.. I just about lost my mind when it hit 30C last summer.

Random question, but I presume the roads are all concrete over there? Not Tarseal?

Right now it's staying pretty cool and has not been above 46c but soon it'll warm up and we'll be hitting 54c-57c

No tuning on the carb (modified GS455 Buick Stage-1) yet. Secondaries were running about 10% rich and the air valve wasn't opening soon enough so it would run perfect on the primaries, lean out at 3600RPM, and then start running rich at 4200RPM. I'll tweak that out once in the car though. Engine started to pull again at 6000RPM so I know there's more power available lower once the mixture is right.

You've mentioned the sand in other threads and the damage it does. And I see the sand storms in the earlier pics here in your thread. There is a severe duty filter and intake for Ford Supderduty and my Excursion for your environement. Have you had to upgrade your air intake filter? Does anyone offer a severe duty filter upgrade like that for the E53 let alone the 4.8iS?

I have uparmored my lower intake grill with expanded aluminum and I use 1 layer of pantyhose pre-filter.

Do you see much blocked by your 'pre-filter'? Does that work pretty well?

Works good since on shutdown gravity drops most of the sand back down the intake tube and if I cross the empty quarter I add a 2nd pantyhose layer directly over the filter before long trips.

It can be like that but I have a couple of Bedouin friends whose tribe is from that area and let me know where, when to avoid.

I have to ask, at 200 kph what kind of mpg/kpl do you get? Reason I ask, given a full tank are you able to make the 310 mile trip?

TBH I haven't paid attention to the mileage but 200 km on the 1st 1/4 tank and 150 km on the next 1/4 after that...? That includes my city driving though.

It's more like a Ford fuel gauge (seems like) and even with the price hike last month fuel runs .43 cents a liter.

Tint is allowed and it doesn't look it but I have cerarmor pass through protectant on my glass. It only cuts down the UV rays.

Ah, no worries. I was at 7000RPM two weeks ago more than a couple of times merging into I35 traffic with 387,000 miles on the engine. It's never the internals that concern me with the engine as long as I know I've got sufficient oil pressure. It's the accessories that will get you, like water pumps and alternators. Besides, those higher fuel flows help clean the intake valves. :D

Yeah but I have a warranty on rim repair from last time and since I had the family with me I went as part of a caravan in case we needed extraction or abandoning a vehicle. Also those Dunlops now cost around 600 USD a set (guessing not a lot of people need rubber coated beer kegs)[emoji6]

So...

I'll be offline next weekend (?or so) as my son fell and hit a table edge and on the way to the ER and maxillofacial surgeon for a dislocated jaw [emoji53] I blasted 3 speed cameras and a red light camera so I expect a 24hr jail sentence along with 6k SAR in fines to be handed down within 7 days.

Jaw was manipulated into place and all seems fine now, besides an crying toddler I am sure the glaring/crying Asian women doesn't give a rats ass about jail at the moment.

This photo was taken on the way home and was the only thing worth a shit last night.....

I thought about trying to pass him since I already have an upcoming event with the judiciary [emoji28]
