That AV extension is the same thing we put in Mouse's, and the port that keeps corrupting flash drives. I'm hoping it's borked (maybe while pulling the center console as it was installed in the rear cigarette lighter hole) rather than something with the built in USB on the Avin 4 itself. It always worked with the Avin 2 though so I'm not holding my breath.
Mouse still needs to pull the head unit and plug a USB directly in to test. |

Both. Usually right away, but sometimes it will work for a few days before giving up the ghost. I bought new drives(can never have too many anyway) tried smaller size drives, formatted every system type, and switched from "quick removal" to "better performance." Same response. I wouldn't call myself advance computer literate by any stretch of the imagination, but still seems like this should be a non issue. Like CW said, hoping it has something to do with the extension but not holding my breath on that as the Avant 2 worked perfectly.

I head to Lime Rock Connecticut in the morning for a race this weekend but when I get back I will try a thumb drive and see what I get. I put a 128 GB MicroSD card in the front slot since my iGo maps went tits up and the system wanted me to format it and it successfully did the job and I loaded and watched a couple of videos off it after the Avin formatted it.
Trans Am this weekend playing with a pair of Camaro ZL1's. Race is Monday, Memorial day. Wish us luck ;) |
