I started off with only having the no communication with air suspension module after unplugging it from the car. No other module had any errors relating to the EHC. I adjusted my ZCS to remove option 220a and ZCS_SCHREIBEN the EWS and the KMBI. I then default coded each affected module with no errors. ISTA still shows the error for no communication with the air suspension still shows the EHC module in red which is a no communication status. I wonder if ISTA knows that EHC comes standard on all 4.6iS models? Dont mind the other modules in yellow that show errors as this picture was taken as soon as I reconnected my battery.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...799c7c35c9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fc79f1ba18.jpg

Is that ZCS in your picture the original or altered? So which bit did you change in it?

Original from the NCS pic and new on the ZCS editor. Not sure the zcs editor image is showing? Tapatalk is telling me I've exceeded my monthly image attachments. The 4th from the last digit, including the checksum was changed from B to 9 and checksum went from E to C

So in SA part you changed the 14th bit from B to 9, correct? If so and that is written in EWS it must be that ISTA knows that all 4.6is versions are equipped with air suspension and is showing the module in diagram tree regardless if it's missing in ZCS.

Correct! I knew it was done correct as well because when I default coded the LCM, it defaulted EHC to not aktiv. Im just going to remove all of the air suspension related fuses and call it a win...

Sounds like a plan. The only thing that could change things is if the vehicle has been in the sleep mode after coding before you checked things with diagnostics. Sometimes the sleep mode is required before new coding is fully adapted into use in module.

I will double check with ISTA later or tomorrow for any changes.

What did you use to change the ZCS? NCSexpert?

I'm still a relative rookie at coding but have now done a few different things with it. Did you delete the last bit and have it recalculate checksums when you changed the ZCS?

Edit: and did you remove the ECH module in the back of the truck before coding or after?

Used NCS to change the ZCS and I believe the ZCS editor automatically calculates the checksum so I didn't choose to auto calculate it via NCS. Coding was done after the module was removed.

From what I've read, so take that for what it's worth. When coding the ZCS it's best practice to input the new ZCS (whether editing FA, GM, or VN) and then delete the last number (bit) and check the box for calculate checksums.

All the "how to's" and "diy's" I've read say to do it that way. :dunno: But if your Kombi, EWS, and LKM are reporting the modified ZCS I'd imagine it's fine. I believe I also coded with my module removed.

Can anyone help me? I tried changing the ZCS by deleting the code for 2 axle air suspension. I followed these instructions to load the new ZCS on the car and when I try to code the whole car it gets an error at the EHC2 module. I’m not sure why the EHC2 module is showing up at all. I’m attempting to rid myself of the self leveling error code due to the air suspension being removed from my 2004 4.8. I’m at wits end here.
