Looks pretty clean and low miles. Red flag, you don't get a failsafe mode from changing the battery.

That black one ends in 7 hours later today and is still sitting at just $3000. It will probably go to five or six or something but that's still a pretty decent deal. If I had the space for another I'd probably get it.

The later X5 diesel has the timing chain at the rear of the engine so a timing chain replacement is an "engine out" task. The N57 engine has a poor reputation. :-(

Wouldn't "broken timing chain" imply bent valves and smashed pistons?

Timing stuff on the back of an engine is stupid. I thought only VW/Audi was that dumb...
