My question: Why are there more '15 and later X5 on Craigstlist than E53s?

That one is pretty clean, but that 'M' badge on the tailgate has got to go.

Not sure about that '15 & later question. Maybe the maintenance is too high? :dunno:

I'm going to guess a few reasons:
1) Production is a lot higher now., so there are more recent X5s than original.
2) E53s get totaled in basically any accident.
3) E53s are at a point in their price / maintenance cost curve where it frequently makes sense to junk them rather than put money in.

Net-net, E53 numbers are rapidly decreasing. New X5s keep pouring off the line. And people largely lease new ones, so the turnover rate is very high.
