Thanks. It's actually factory trim out of a LeMans Blue 4.8is, believe it or not. Previous owner installed it and I love it.

Any weight savings on the wheels?

disturbedk24 02-21-2010 07:36 AM

yes, alot. the wheels are volk racing te37's 20x8.5 and 9.5, i havent gotten a chance to weigh without tires but should be about 20 pounds per wheel, theyre forged aluminum

as soon as i pulled out of the tire place i noticed a huge difference "peppiness" and overall power/handling from the amount of rotational mass reduced

fraserp 02-21-2010 11:31 AM

spec on rims seems great but i just cant seem to get over the design-- in my opinion looks kinda like what you would see on a honda civic. well at 20 lbs lighter, Volk racing, stagered forged aluminum I guess i can overlook the design and accept the performance facts.

Why did you go an inch narrower in front and rear than stock?

Nice! I've got a set of Volks on the car. ;)

The TE's usually spoke flush to the edge of the wheel with no lip... why do those TE's have a lip? Are they LE-37's? More info on offset, and why an inch narrower?

Thanks, and again nice choice in wheel.

disturbedk24 02-22-2010 03:36 AM

many questions!

yes they are like something you would see on a civic, i have one civic with te37's, one with re30's, one with se37k's, an integra with le37k's and a integra on something i havent decided on yet, the m5 in the pictures is going to be on ce28's soon and i have some te37's awaiting my tundra. forged monoblock wheels from volk are very popular motorsports wheels. and i just happen to love most of their designs.

the wheels are an inch narrower than stock 4.6 wheels because they came off an m6, i bought them for the m5 but when i got the 4.6 i knew these would complete it, you really dont NEED 275/315 tires. and im not sure if they have released a 20x10.5 in the 5x120 bolt pattern, but either way im not too interested in spending 1800/ish per wheel to do that:thumbup:

i saw your gtc's in your profile:thumbup:

they have a lip because theyre huge and wide, when you start getting into the 19x10.5's they start getting lips. le37t's the te37's with a polished lip are identicle the "LE" just designates a polished lip as in le28 le37t and le37k.

and thanks:thumbup: i love the wheels, 20" are pretty much never seen since they havent been around long and are 2x the price of the 19's, these wheels get compliments from everybody that talks to me about the car, i added my personal touch to the 4.6 and it paid off:thumbup:

gotcha. :)

edit: also, baller.

The wheels look odd because of the fenderwell gap.

With a drop kit it would look awesome - love the TE-37s

I was in on a group buy for 17x8 TE37s for my M3 but it fell through a couple weeks ago :(
