Hey brother - can this turn off a 3 series DRL? If yes, you want to "check" it out with my ride? I can even drive down to MD for this...

Couple of things:

1) What year is your 3 series and which model specifically.
2) I assume you have an OBDII connection on your vehicle?

This thing is supposed to work on just about any BMW but later models need programming through SSS via OPS head (which I don't have).

I have no problem doing this for ya.

I installed the DIS V55 on a Sony VAIO and I have the software up and running.
I think that we need the OPS head to connect although the software shows a picture of both. So it may work
I need to play more with this.

I'm still looking for a T30.
Anybody have one laying around and want to donate? :D LOL.

I think it should work with the yellow multiplexer. It's just that it will only be able to do diagnostics. Programming needs to be done through SSS which will need the OPS head.

Do you have the LAN cable connected to the yellow head? Its color coded - connect it to second from left in my pic. The OBDII connects to the far right in my pic. Some menus will not let you continue after awhile until its actually connected to the vehicle. It needs to read the current vehicle settings is why.

Great with the V55! I actually have an old T20 so I'll try putting it on that. Thanks for the update Riaz!

Yea the V55 looks to need the OPS head... I definitely want to get the DIS v43 on a VM. I would like to use the same laptop I run the VAG-COM with.(much more robust) than a weak sauce T30. :dunno:

jayjay_dee 03-12-2009 05:26 PM

Jose, can you reprogram my 3.0 and make the X's cpu think its a 4.8? :D  :nanana:

kidding aside, props to you and steed and 01BMW_x5...

i hope you can figure out how to turn off the corner lights so only the AE's are lit when parking lights are on.... good luck...

Well .. wat u waiting for ... drop everything and let me know the instructions by tonight! :stickpoke :tapping:

On another note some possible bad news ... heard something about requiring a battery charger to keep voltage up when using the SSS through the OPS head. I hope its not true because thats another purchase. Maybe I'll be sticking with V43 afterall since I have everything I need already.

Guys .. can you verify v55 has TIS installed .. that's what I care about since v43 did not come with TIS installed.

01 BMW_X5 03-12-2009 05:58 PM

Yes, TIS installed on V55.

Thanks Riaz! When my wife comes back with the X I'll write you up some quick instructions on how to set the auto-lock.
