Battery charger

Okay, got the scoop from weasel:

"As for the charger with programming, it really depends. If you are just doing an "encoding" using the dis V44 then you are ok without it. If you are doing an actual programming with either dis V44 or any SSS version then it actually won't let you program unless the voltage is measured over 13 volts at the connector."

So, it seems I'm okay with the the small stuff. If I ever NEED to do some serious programming (which I hope not) then I probably would take it to the dealer.

I'm still going to investigate getting some kind of battery charger though.

hiya twinspoppa, i just had a thought it might be possible to use your existing mains power pack connected to a power inverter costing around 30 bucks or use a small gasoline powered generator costing around 100 bucks , oh and can i mention some more james bond movies, pleeeeease , ok then,---- NEVER SAY TRANS FAILSAFE PROG AGAIN ----and-----DIAGNOSTICS ARE FOREVER.. oh and ..THE LIVING DAY RUNNING LIGHTS (drl`s).http://www.xoutpost.com/images/icons/icon7.gif I HAD TO EDIT THIS AFTER READING A POST ON ANOTHER THREAD REGARDING POWER INVERTERS AND GENERATORS , I CAN`T REMEMBER EXACT WORDING AS POSTER WROTE CONFUSING ENGLISH BUT BASICALLY SAID THAT SUCH POWER SOURCES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR COMPUTERS .

I haven't been around long, so I don't know your story, but please stop thread crapping.

Yeah amacman might want to edit that thread. Looks like someone puked all over it.

UPDATE - source revealed, more info, downloads coming

Updated the first post with more info. including WHERE I bought it from. Please mention you're from X5world. No, I do not get any kick backs or any benefit whatsoever.

AGAIN, please do your own research and keep checking my first post. I continually update it w/o saying so. I HIGHLY recommend that you get DIS v44 or lower - basically what I ordered. Its the simplest way to get up and running. You should still be able to get v55 (latest DIS) at no charge - so you're not missing out on anything.

I also added a download section. I will be sharing ALL documentation I have. Please be patient as I have not uploaded it yet.

sorry about the crap , i think you`re doing a great job cos your saving me a lot of hassle cos i was thinking about getting some diagnostic equipment and was about to purchase a small diagnostic tool . I think i`ll wait and see how you go with this cos it looks great .:driver: :beerchug: :excited: :thanks:

GT1 download links added

Download links to documentation now work. For now this is most of what I have, will be adding more as I get them. If anyone has any docs to contribute, please do so.

Next up will probably be Adjusting the Ride Height and maybe going back and documenting DRLs.

BTW ... I have multi-languages available for the v2.0 docs. The ones I linked are actually only the relevant portions. I didn't include stuff like JETStream, Trolley, etc. I will post links for RAR files that you can join and burn to a CD.

Languages include:

Chinese
German
French
Greek
Indonesian
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Dutch
Portuguese
Russian
Swedish
Spanish
Thai
Turkish
US English
UK English (centre vs center? Just kidding! :D )

Sorry Tom! No Vietnamese! :D

hi guys , can you tell me if v55 could work on any laptop ,and is it easy to install the software ?

thank you cj

Should work on any laptop.
I installed V55 on a "non-T30" using VMWare.
Wasn't too difficult to install.
Can't test the diagnostic function because I don't have the OPS head.

We haven't 100% completely confirmed it yet. We were able to install it but not confirmed that it will diagnose the X with the yellow multiplexer.

Stay tuned.
