clarification

Sorry to ask this again, but:

Will this mod only work for a diesel vehicle?

I have an X5 4.4i and I'd love to put this in.

thanks for the help.

I`ve heard that you cant aftermarket the Webasto on to a petrol engine, but if you ordered it when you bought the car then you can have it. You can only add the mod on to a diesel because the diesels always have the Webasto heater fitted even if you dont have the remote option. The additional heater is needed to warm the engine faster because they take ages to get warm on their own.

Also somebody said on here you could only control the heater with the remote, it`s not true. You can program the remote for the summer too so that it just turns on the vents instead. This way you can at least get some air moving in the car before you need to get in it.

I`m lost here, what does J385 mean?
This thread is old so you`ll have to refresh my ageing memory (33yrs and counting).
