No fart, it is actually a good question. Those who made fun of this may not know that many cars over the years have had different rotations on different sides, and clearly they haven't had the thrill of experiencing this for themselves.

I have heard people have made this mistake when some moron has torqued down the lugs with the earthmover impact tool:dunno:

So, good for asking. I wouldn't put it past the Germans to think that reverse-side lugs was a good idea...:thumbup:
