or is it just same as old halo headlight performance?

also, what's the highest light bulb you can use for this new projector off ebay? and what was the hightetst light bulb you could use with older halo headlight?

They definetely perform like halo lights - they are halo lights because they have halogen projector - not HID/xenon projector...

I received new DEPO lights with LED halos from group buy - they are amazing!!! The projector is HID and even with my old stock bulbs the light output is great - like OEM or even better.

Man, these LED halos are bright

P.S. if anyone wants the eBay headlights (pictures on the first page) let me know. I made some modification to the bulb holder so it would take OEM hid bulb - not a professional modification but it works fine. Also I cut the CCFL connectors so I could use the CCFL wiring kit from eBay. Again - this is not the HID projector headlight so do not expect it to work as OEM HID. Not sure if you will want to use these lights but the CCFL's are really bright and you can probably take them out and retrofit them into your lights...(you can see the pictures on the 1st page)
If someone wants them - $100 shipped

Philly, you're killing me man :) I don't have projectors stock, nor would I have to use D2S bulb adapters since I don't have HID's stock as is. I'd love to take these off your hands off you for that price, i've just got sooo much money going to my winter projects - stock stereo converted to Alpine Navi w/ trim bezel, finishing the box build so I can finally have a hidden subwoofer enclosure, hydraulic to cable clutch conversion on the bike and swapping out the auto in my 7 for a 6spd conversion. If these are around after Xmas, I'll be the first one PM'ing you :)

EDIT - The pics below are of my headlights that Bernie requested to make sure we have the same "problem" ;) These are the only ones I have on this computer, so no closeups, but it shows the headlights enough to tell them apart from Philly's projectors from the 1st post.

Will the DEPOs work with existing OEM HID bulbs or they come with their own set of bulbs? Very interested in getting a set of my own.

Yes, DEPO will work with your OEM HID bulbs...they come without bulbs, you will need to use your OEM ones:thumbup:

They are 4 or 4500K - not 6K

Do you know the specs of aftermarkets HID bulbs that will work other than OEM? I've learned from other posts in this forum that non-OEM bulbs might work with these DEPOs, is that true?

It is true but sometimes you might get an error bulb message if you use non OEM bulbs - my X is 03 and I was constantly getting error mes. and the bulbs did not work at all sometimes...so its better to use original OEM bulbs or try to find hight quality bulbs that will match OEM...

I have 6000K bulbs from my previous lights - maybe your car will "like" them and they will be OK for you. PM me if you want them.

I do not have HID on my 02 X5, so i'm gonna use the aftermarket H7 HID kit. Will this work with the modification that you made to the light?
If it's fine, I'll get them off your hand.
