Installed CCFL $170 lights from eBay...

Ok, I had a chance to install these $170 eBay lights with CCFL's and I must say that I really like them BUT the halogen projector suck big time compared to OEM HID's and new 6K bulbs that I am using right now giving me allot of problems - wont come up when I start the car or will come up few second later... I even purchased error cancellers / capacitors but they not helping - the only way to fix that problem is to install the OEM 4K bulbs but with halogen projector they look ugly yellow comparing to the CCFL light output.
I cannot open my original lights to change the projector because they are after 2003 so the only way for me left is - to go with DEPO ones that we had a group buy for $480.00 (but I really liked the look on these lights better, especially the low light lens – more OEM I think)

Anyway - I just wanted to post my opinion and to show you guys some pictures.

P.S the halogen lens light output is completely different, there is no 'clean line" and not much light even with 6K bulbs

while theyre new i would get some 3M film on them. avoid all the rock chips and aging!

Are these the same ones I started the thread on? I thought the ones I asked about had lines around the outside of the projector.

Did the HID's come as part of the pacakge w/ the headlights, or did you purchase them seperately.

Those angel eyes look damn sexy though!

They look pretty good... Who is the ebay vendor???

chiefcorey 11-05-2009 02:52 AM

They look AMAZING. I was thinking of ordering some myself off ebay.

How 'bad' is the light compared to OEM? I'm not going to spend $480 for depo's. So I either go with this, or I stay with the stock... and I really really don't like the faded look and orange corners.

Hey Philly, did you take pics of the light pattern when you took all the frontal shots?

the depos are definitely the best quality headlights out there. those are great too for the price though.

just wanted to let you know i had that headlight issue for a year now. turns out it was the bulb. i can't figure out if these bulbs off eBay are just cheap, different wattage, or the OEM ballasts just don't like them. another member had the same issue as well when putting in aftermarket bulbs with the OEM ballasts.

So what bulbs should worked best? Where would I get it? Part number? I really know very little on the lighting system and bulbs.

So far I've went through two different bulbs off eBay with the OEM ballasts, but only OEM bulbs worked without issues.
