"....." seems much bigger. visually it's more like ... (3 dots) And :iagree:when you're talking 5mm difference, it's a tiny one. |
I still think even the 5/20 will be a definate improvement over what I've got now. If my current wheels we're tucked in any further, it'd like look a Chevy Blazer :( I've always hated how they were tucked in so deep...flush w/ the fenders looks so much better.
Dumb question that I'm sure I'll get flamed for, but what is the difference between BMW E53 X5 M62 4.4L > Search > Spacer > ES#172 DR Series Wheel Spacer - 5mm (1 Pair) - 1075725 @ $38 vs PAIR 8mm 5-LUG WHEELS SPACERS BMW X3 X5 X6 M3 M5 Z4 Z8:eBay Motors (item 370307817426 end time Jan-19-10 12:01:00 PST) @ $20. Neither is hub centric and neither has a lip to make them perfectly centered, so how do we keep them from being off center and causing vibration? Here's a set of 20mm for only $80 Billet Wheel Spacer kit 20 mm BMW 5 Series X3 X5 New:eBay Motors (item 170371515294 end time Jan-09-10 09:30:44 PST) I know everyone likes to throw the Made in China card, but do we truely know Ichiban and H&R aren't outsourcing just like everyone else is, or has anyone actually used this exact brand seller and can say for sure that they're no good? I just don't understand how these things can really go bad since they're sandwiched between two other pieces of metal. |

Some of the thicker Turner Motorsports spacers come with hub extenders. However, I didn't see any that fit the e53. Turner Motorsport - Item# TWH9905001 - TMS Front Hub Extenders (Pair) - E24 E28 E34 E36 E46 Z3 Z4 |
$60 for something w/ a cool logo...that no one will ever see. Pointless.

I know, but w/ the combined cost of the extenders and even using the ebay spacers, it'd still be cheaper to use the more expensive brands if the hubcentric ring is already a machined part of the spacer itself. Hope spdu4ai will let us know how or what keeps the spacers centered in the front.

The added advantage of going with a 25mm spacer (from H&R) is that you can simply use the stock bolts! The 20mm looks just about perfect (for the OEM staggered 19 setup), but like everyone else, not sure if the 25mm will make the rear wheel stick out too much.

I hate to sound like a salesperson but I got the ECS tuning ones and they are extremely nice. The 20 AND the 5mm spacers all had the small inside bevel. They fit very snug and went on with a small tap with a rubber mallet. I've had H&R spacers before and to be honest the ECS tuning spacers are very well made, powedercoated, and fit perfectly. I would not ever want to skimp on a product that is so directly related to saftey and could cause a terrible accident if it failed :stickpoke
Yes they cost more... *cough* you drive a bmw *cough* |
Hi, Im not sure if this member posted. But follow the link, he as 15mm F and 25mm R.
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ere-we-go.html At least now your somewhere in between :) the stance of his X is priceless but I think 10mm front would be perfect. |
