Thanks mate. What size would I need?

Going by ECS they sell a 60" x 30" roll for $60

BMW E53 X5 M54 3.0L > Interior > 3M Vinyl Wrap > ES#2550235 1080 Series Brushed Aluminum Wrap Film - 5' X 2.5' - 1080BR120

Metrorestyling sell either a 60" x 24" ($50) or a 60" x 36" ($70)

Just want to add that if you want to buy carbon fiber wraps go to Metro Restyling - Carbon Fiber Vinyl - Camo - Woodgrain Vinyl Wrap. Its the same people as metrodecals but its their wholesale site and prices are less expensive.

FYI - 3M DI-NOC is really made for interior applications and are not certified as an automotive wrap. Having said that there are now 7 colors available! :D

I really need this stuff as my steering wheel looks crap, the black paint just wore off due to sweaty hands etc but haven’t found the guts yet to start disabling the airback and removing it fro the steering wheel etc…..

Came across this thread today and am thinking of changing my woodgrain to brushed aluminium.

Just a bit confused though. Is the Di-Noc stuff only the carbon fibre pattern? I am looking on metrorestyling (in the left menu bar) and all I see for Di-Noc is carbon fibre and woodgrain.

Which product would I want for brushed aluminium?

I would contact them (I assume by email in your case) and ask what's best for your application. They were helpful when it came to selecting which is more flexible and would conform to complex curves for my application vs. one that has a metallic backing that is mostly better for flat and/or simple curves.
Some of them are the same but the only difference is one has bubble-free adhesive. I was really glad I spoke to them first before making my selection.

If you don't make any mistakes a 5x2.5 roll should be be enough to wrap everything in the X5. Personally I prefer to have extra to play with an incase I goof up a few larger parts so I'd go with the 5x5 section (found HERE)

So are you saying not to go with the Brushed Alum product as it's difficult to work with?
