Yea it was crazy to hit "Buy it Now" on a $35k vehicle and all of a sudden popping up "Congratulations on your purchase of the 2006 BMW X5" - almost surreal.

Tomorrow they are taking it to the BMW dealer for a full check up and to get any warranty related issues taken care of for my trip home. I think I am going to have them install a clearbra as well to avoid any damage.

She assured me that they avoid cars with any sort of issues, more hassle than it is worth with out of state clients, and that makes sense and would be the way I would run a dealership like this. Things like their guy using an electronic paint thickness gauge and all sorts of other checks to make sure the cars are legit. Even so a freshened up bumper or something isn't the end of the world as long as the car itself is solid.

Pics are a huge deal to me so there will be plenty!

I just got off the phone with the owner of the dealership I bought it from - turns out they listed it wrong.

Instead of just the factory warranty it has the CPO warranty as well! Confirmed with the issuing BMW dealership!

I think I may be the luckiest man alive right now, time to buy a lotto ticket!

ya - sometimes that happens with an auction vehicle. A buddy of mine purchased a 2004 760iL from a dealer and later found out it had a CPO attached to it. He had no idea - the BMW dealer found out for him. I traded in a 2000 M5 for a 2004 Z06 Corvette one time and the M5 was still under CPO. The dealer may have sold the car on their lot or may have dumped it off on auction, but I bet either way they had no clue it was a CPO car. Only a BMW dealer or someone who deals in these cars would know to look and use it as an added value to the sale.

Just a quick tip based on my experience: I bought a warm weather (Dallas) X5 this past December and drove it up to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. At about Wyoming, the washer fluid reservoir was frozen up to a slush-like consistency and all the washer lines were plugged. I've since had to replace a busted leaking washer pump and have left several jugs of -40-approved washer fluid to leak on the driveway! :)

I'd recommend either bringing down some cold weather additive or getting a jug of the cold weather stuff ASAP, as Minneapolis will be a lot like Canada at this time of year!

Looks like a nice ride, have fun!

That is AWESOME advice, and something I didn't even think of!

I'll probably have to wait until St Louis to grab anything cold weather related.

PS I think it is actually colder than Canada right now
