That's awesome! What tires do you run on yours given the environment? I've been running Toyo rubber as it doesn't seem to break down as quickly here in the desert. I've trashed several sets of tires due to dry rot yet still had plenty of tread. GRRR...but life in the desert is what it is. We also have a lot of bad roads here though I don't have many speed bumps to deal with. LOL.

I switched to Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050+ they hold up really well and for surface of the sun pavement the tread is really sticky...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c954008c37.jpg

That's a seriously sticky tire --you don't see that sort of tire put on SUVs very often stateside. |

Except on my car. I use Dunlop winter tires year 'round. At least three times specifically avoided a minor accident because of it so I'm never going back to 3-season tires. Winter tires grip better all times at the expensive of wearing quicker. Costs less to replace more often than have a secomd set and I get silly levels of cornering capability not to mention stop before the back seat of the guy who just panic stopped in front of me on oily city pavement. |
Actually, it's not commonly known, but most summer tires will outperform any all-season tire even in heavy rain and standing water.
For example when Edmunds tested summer, winter, and all-season Michelin tires against each other, the all-season was actually the slowest tire in the rain, by a large margin. That particular test drew the strong conclusion that anyone who never sees snow should always buy summer tires. |

I buy them used. 70% tread 70% discount. (between $350 and $450 a set). In five years bought only one replacement set and two additional tires between both cars.
I regularly leave sports sedans in the dust on 270 off ramps. Clearly they *could* keep up with me but past the driver's comfort level. Rated 25 I come in at 45-50 and maintain 35-40. The best way to describe the extra grip was the first time I drove a friend's x5 I went to show him the method I use to maximize speed on 270s I drifted the entire time going at least 5 mph slower than usual. I know that some summer tread are better for hot dry but add six days of no rain in Chicago and my tires are much better. Or; rain plus leaf = ice levels of traction. Like I said I've gotten used to the better traction and no way I can go back. |
driving on 2 hour road trip went i heard clunk then clunk then it went into transmission fail safe mode notice that my rear is sagging but self level light is not onsat on side of road for a few mins turn on off car and back on few times ran fine but my rear is sagging but not rubbing against the tires ... any idea what that was ?
