Hey all i have an iphone 4s with the windows ce dynacin for my x5. I am having the problem where the blue tooth will not pair. It will pair with other iphone 4 and 4s. I tried to reset the phone and press the reset button on the unit. No luck. Any advice?

blkxer,
i to would like to see your finished install.
I also have a cd-player with DSP amp on a 2002 x5 4.4i

Does anyone know if there is an amp replacement without re-wiring the entire car.
For example can the dsp amp be replaced with a non-dsp bmw amp from a vehicle of the same year. I know wishful thinking.
Cars are wired different so amp can not be swapped.

If I remember correctly, it was 5 wires and I ran about 2ft of it. It was super easy, then you'll have to find my posts showing how I secured it w/ sheetrock screws into the glovebox so it can pop in and out just like it was in the dash.

Dynavin alternative w/ a faster processor and more memory

So I tried this morning to make a nice and lengthly post, links, videos, etc but it simply wouldn't post, I had to leave for work, so I'll try again around 1:30am when I get home. Nonetheless, I've been comparing other Android OS decks and came across the Erisin 777A or 777US. 1000Mhz vs 500/600MHz processor, 512k vs 256 memory, Android 2.3 vs 2.2/2.1 and it's half the price...search Google and eBay, watch the videos and check it out. Throwing the bone out there until I can home to complete my full post, but I wanted some opinions.

Had to purchase a 5 channel amp, RCA cables, and crossovers to set it up properly. As soon as everything comes in, I'll be spending a weekend taking the OE nav and DSP units out and installing everything in. Got the whole install planned out based on all the research I've been doing, but will probably take me a good day (maybe 2) to get everything installed. Could probably do a write up, but then there's already so many info on the different X5 forums already.

.

What amp did you go with.
I am planning on doing the "exact" same thing from the rca cable to the camera since i am doing all these cable runs.

So I know I'm going to catch hell for even considering installing something "Made in China" into the X, but I started searching eBay for "Android DIN" and came across this: ES777US 7" 2 Din HD Car DVD Player BT TV + WiFi 3G GPS Android 2.3 PAD MID OTG | eBay

I've been looking at the Dynavin D99 Android already, both in full bezel and universal form (since I've already got a bezel now). Even though the D99 image in the OP's first pic shows a better angle than my current setup that tilts back at the same angle as the dash, I want the face of the deck to sit more upright for better viewing angle, which is why I've considered the D99 universal and just fabricating my own bezel....I'd love if it was almost perfectly upright like something you'd see in the newer BMW's, Range Rover, etc but I realize there are limitations of the HVAC and dashboard support tubing behind the dash.

Anyways, so back to deck options. I've been comparing videos on YouTube, specs of the D99 vs the Erisin E777US, etc. The D99 is only 600mhz, 256k memory...my phone has at least 1000Mhz (running rooted at 1.5Ghz) and 512k memory! Granted, the ES777US isn't the prettiest w/ that shelf where the faceplate/tablet sits, but at the same time, the OS is 2.3 vs 2.2, and has the speed and memory as my Samsung Epic. The deck is ugly as hell w/o the face on, but considering how it'd be used, I'd never consider driving w/o the face unless someone was w/ me and wanted to use the tablet (wirelessly tethered to my phone of course ).

The Menu options screens between the two are debatable as to which looks better:

Dynavin (showing WinCE and Android usage) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUMxAdqy0ro&feature=related
Erisin (this is the older ES666, not the newest ES777) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNqMcVTzaD4
Erisin (this is the newer ES777, only showing the Android usage) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ykNmBEvfvE
Erisin (showing WinCE and some Google Music usage, not much Android OS) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8BbaNK-hEc&feature=related
Erisin (in Russian if you so choose) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2796aaLvcPE&feature=related
Erisin (same slow 2.2, 600Mhz and 256 memory of the D99A ) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDo-j3e1Png&feature=related
Erisin (778A, still trying to find more info about this one) - Erisin ES778A in 1999 Buick Regal - YouTube

After watching the videos back-to-back, both systems seem to be running WinCE (similar to my current AVIC F90BT) in radio, DVD/CD, and built-in Navi mode, then go into the Android OS after choosing certain mention options (Navi on the D99, Pad on the ES777). No matter what deck I chose, I will be using Android 99.9% of the time since I stream music via my phone now anyways, then I'd also be able to use YouTube, Netflix, Crackle, etc for everything else. I always use Google Maps since it's online, so I know it'll have the latest directions, traffic, phone numbers, etc...I can't even see myself leaving the Android portion, hence why I'm liking the stronger capabilities of the E777 knowing it's speed potential. I still on the fence as to which I like more, but being an Android geek and knowing what happens when you have phones over the years that have had different speeds, older vs newer versions of the OS, etc, (looks aside of that shelf) the ES777 is coming out ahead in the Android portion of the deck.

So far, my downsides of the ES777 are that shelf (where the tablet sits), it's in the air if steering wheel stereo controls will work (I'm going to read some blogs and have been talking w/ the seller, so I'll report back) and obviously no OBC support (if I went Dynavin, I'm going the universal anyways so I can custom make my own bezel to tilt the unit better, plus I've already relocated my OBC in the glovebox and never use it as is). Pricewise...ES777 $375 shipped vs D99A for around $900 w/o shipping.

Bring on the flaming...

EDIT - WTF!!!!! You have NO idea what it took to create this post. Doing and Copy and Paste the whole link to the site would crash, and I narrowed it down to how I wrote DVD/CD vs writing it the other way around!!! Holy crap!! It's as if I was writing a DOS command by writing...yup, it's official... change directories on the server!!

I went with an Alpine PDX-5 unit because I wanted a unit that would fit in the existing amp space. I remember coming across an article that gave the max dimensions for a replacement amp to fit in the slot (something like 12.#" x 8.#" x 2.#"), and there wasn't alot of options. This unit came the closest, so I'm hoping to retrofit the existing amp bracket without having to do too much customization.

I want to replace out the factory subwoofer as well, so I went with the 5 channel amp for the subwoofer later. I didn't want to have to wire a second amp for the sub. While I like having good sound, I also wanted a simple setup/install option as well.

Does the TV work in the US? Not the video/DVD talking about broadcast TV.
