The new Dynavin Android means that you don't have to relocate the OBC into your glovebox to retain OBC features, right? You can now reset your average MPG, speed, and tell your range straight from the Dynavin now?

How is the iPhone/iPod controls? Can you still see your playlists and album info?

Yes, the ipod controls are great and you can see and do things on Dynavin as on your ipod

Looks nice Philly X5. I was thinking that since I'm going to have to get alot of carpet and panels off to run the RCA and Fakra wires, maybe I should run a rear view camera also.

Was wondering where did you pick up the rear view camera from? I see alot of cheap ones on eBay but not sure how well they work and fit into the license place slot. Also, how was the wiring process from the rear glass panel down to the trunk area to run to the front?

Also, I noticed that the OBC function on the Dynavin does not have the outside ambient temp; do you still have the outside temp reading on the speedometer?

I got the camera from eBay will post the picture later. It was around $35 they advertised it as night vision but its not - you cant see nothing at night but the rear lights help a little

THe image quality is good but I would look for the one with night vision option. I installed my on the license plate light on the drivers side, had to remove the whole plastic trim on the tailgate window, some interior trim panels. It it pain the ass so you better to it the same time when you will be putting farka cable and take your time - test everything before putting the panels back.

The OBC on Dynavin has the outside temperature displayed.

really nice job Philly X5. I understood you had Hualingan unit before, is it correct?.

I am really interesting to hear from you if there are some difficulties to install Dynavin if you had HU before.Actually I have also Hualingan unit in my car and I am looking to hear experiences regardind to installation of Dynavin, e.g. cutting of the frame like I did for Hualingan, or rear camera for hualingan is compatibile for Dynavin...etc..

Well I would like to hear :hey man it is just plug and play:D
let me hear from you about those practicalities I wrote above...
thanks

It seems like all the searches for BMW X5 E53 rear view camera comes up with a China supplier. So the night version is promoted, but like you say, it's not truly night vision.

Btw, can you confirm if the Dynavin requires a NTSC or PAL camera system? Or does it support both? I know that US spec is NTSC and Euro/Asia is PAL, but since the Dynavin is Chinese made, not sure which spec the unit supports (can't find any technical spec info on their site either)?

The unit is a complete plug and play, my frame was cut for the OEM unit before.
Right now I just installed the Dynavin unit in as is, no mounting bracket and its sits correctly and not sliding out when driving.
The Dynavin comes with the mounting bracket but its for e39 5 series and it wont fit X5 without some modification.
Rear camera works fine - no problem.

The camera I got on eBay is the NTSC camera- its really good in the daylight and for $35 its ok but it sucks at night. I would consider looking for a camera with night vision option if you can find one that can fit the X5.

I am having trouble finding the link to the DSP workaround. Does anyone have the link?
