:iagree:, But lets be as reasonable as possible.

How much money would we/you ask for in this situation to settle a total loss of the vehicle?????

Take in to consideration a loan on the car for $21k that needs to be paid off, low miles, type of car, ability to step into a new comparable car with no out of pocket costs, and having to find financing again and hope to get the same interest rate as before and how that the insurance costs aren't going to be higher..

I love how that shows that the insurance company is responsible for paying retail value for the car whereas the insurance company for BMW Northwest was only willing to pay trade in value for my car. When I ran my car on kelly bluebook my car was booking for retail value at $24,000 whereas the amount for trade in good value was only $19,000 this was the amount they were going to give me to settle. After they realized an Engine would cost $23,000 brand-new they decided that they would give me $23,000 to settle and they take the car as a total loss because the labor would have cost way more than the car was worth.

Anything over $23 k is gravy. That is what you paid for it, and it is now slightly older, so worth slightly less. I would consider $23 k, but would look for a little more because I might not find an exact comparable at the same price. Stretch target would be $24k/$25k.

I would move the loan over to the new vehicle with my bank, same interest rate.

And I would ask to keep any special mods I had done (wheels, etc).

I forgot to mention that I had about 3k into the car just for a full replacement of the stock air suspension with arnott bags and compressor. So I agree 24k plus what I have invested in it for 27k is more than reasonable for their mistake.

quite possibly the dumbest attempt at driving/drifting i have ever seen. what exactly did that accomplish? scrubbing off the remaining 1mm of tread left on the front tires? complete idiot.

i remember a guy at the Lexus dealer i worked at, he took a 1 year old IS-F that was in for an oil change and did a brake stand right in the middle of the Service bays for about a 30 seconds, the customer found out and was not pleased, the lexus tech who did it almost got canned.
