They will all last 300K, 400K or even 500K miles if you throw enough of your hard earned cash at them, therein lies the problem...lol!

Hence called a Beater so I don't care if it last a year as long as i keep my X less driven....:thumbup::thumb up:

within 10 months of driving the Beater id get my money back from just Saving Gas wise ..so the Goal would be 10months Boom!.. i just save 40k miles on the X by Not driving it as daily......

The Ninja will Only come out if it Needs to Be Driven, ElectricSav knows how the My X5 Handles on Twist Roads, not an average X5, lol..and will preserve the tranny as much now....

What year is the 3?

tmv 02-03-2014 10:30 AM

Nice to have the Ninja back.
Recommended for your DD: DISA valve upgrade with GAS kit, Vanos seals with Beisan seals.

RB & tMV said the same thing,

You perform the GAS upgrade kit when the DISA is still in working condition.
Vanos seals will never break. They degrade and you lose performance gradually.

What tmv said, 80 bucks preventatively for the DISA, before it breaks.

I told him to also do CCV and intake elbow preventatively as I don't know if they are same problem areas as M54.

I haven't done vanos seals on mine but when my VCG gets done I surely will do them too.

I like the slicktop E46! Please say it has a manual transmission!
