I was gonna add all the other things I've got in mind to finish before Memorial Day, but then one wise guy or another would hold me accountable for them, and with the CEO the way she is, who knows what will really get approved... ;)

1) It's all about the prep, wire brushing the built up rust off the calipers, cleaning them all with brake cleaner well, masking off pads, bleeder screws etc, make sure everything is great looking before starting 2) Get a few small sponge brushes from HD, assorted sizes, makes application easier than the little paint brush they include 3) For the money, its the best caliper paint you can buy. It has epoxy so it dries hard, smooth, and glossy, like a factory finish. I had on my 99 Jetta for 5 years without chipping at all, again its all in the prep work. If you really want Sienna Red they can custom mix you a batch for $99 to your color code: G2 Brake Caliper Paint Systems: G2 Custom Color Match Brake Caliper Paint But for $40 I just went with Gloss black as I like more subtle calipers anyway. Oh and also, take the anti-rattle clips off and either clean them up well so they are silver again, or get a new one on each corner. Nothing worse than either painted rattle clips, or rusty ones on top of good looking freshly painted rotors (I bought 4 new clips as mine are brown and rusted out) |
