My advice Gary, start now, when its not spring yet. The only way you'll get everything done by "start of summer" parties lol.

My problem is that I have a ton of yard cleanup when the snow melts, and the ground dries up, I have 2 35' (yes feet) tall arborvites which fell in one of our ice storms, in the front yard, and a ton of branches from my pines and spruces which are down. I have at least a full weekend of chainsawing the branches up and the trees themselves (they are about 14" thick trees, tall and skinny), and taking loads of brush to the back of my 1.75 acre property in the woods to dump.

Then I have to get my tree guy to grind the stumps when I'm done.

Then I need to pressure wash the house/garage, and make sure the gutters are clear, and caulk any leaking seams, I know theres about 2 places I missed last year that leak from the ends.

Then I have to fertilize my property with about 3-4 50 lb bags of fertilizer (I do it 3x a year, early April, late June, and late Sept/early Oct), re-edge the mulch beds and finish making new beds that I started last year. Then I have to lay down about 15 yards of mulch.

Did I mention that this is all done solo? My CEO is not much of a chainsaw/tree trimmer/mulcher, but she is great at a "bikini car wash", so as you can tell I'm ready to get my car "to-do's" done as soon as possible!

Oh and can't forget I need to change the oil on the Triumph before I start riding, my Scag needs an oil change, a trans belt and a thorough greasing of all fittings too before I start mowing grass.

Let the games begin already in my book, I'm not waiting for spring!!!:rofl:

I've noticed this more on my Style 87 wheel that all my other wheels , but the back of the barrel, where it has the indent, loves to collect caked dirt. With the recent pothole hotmess, 2-3 of the wheels was caked with dirt and asphalt !

I was triggering the pressure washer (making sure not to hit the wheel weights) and boy, I was surprised how much asphalt got caked up in that groove...

FWIW, as a public notice for all of ya'll rocking 87's

it's bc its so easy to clean the barrels on 87s that you notice every detail lol! I clean the inside of the barrels on my 168's every time I was the wheels, and every time I get tires mounted I have to get on the inside of the wheels with some WD-40 and make sure the old wheel weight adhesive is cleaned off. Regular maintenance of the inside of the wheels makes them easy to clean, but you're right, that inner lip really likes to collect grit and dirt!

When the weather's warmer, I generally wash the wheels every 2-3 days, rain or shine on the 2 DD's. They are both coated, but IMO, it makes no difference on how long they stay clean.

It's really hard without a Pressure Washer to get that groove clean unless you remove it off. It needs that much *mechanical agitation* to free it from the groove...

One more to the list - replace front DS/PS weatherstripping. It's fine. DS just has a slight tear on the bottom

Thrust Arm bushings
Valve cover gaskets
Timing cover gaskets
Oil pan gasket
Alternator bracket gasket
Water pump and full cooling system overhaul (preventative)
Fuel filter

I've got a laundry list after buying my X a few months ago. Most of this stuff is piece of mind stuff, which I do to any used car after purchasing.

Replace worn suspension bushings with spherical bearings, install KW Var3 coilovers with 2" drop and alignment. If Continential releases the ContiForceContact street/track tire in the 255-285/19 size, I will be installing them too.

Like this?

I used the Dupli-Color rattle can Ceramic paint 4 months ago, holding up good.

StephenVA 02-20-2014 07:29 PM

Yep, That B the right choice. Great look by the way. I was planning on using their Caliper paint in the rattle can too.
