if your vehicle is paid off your future maintenance cost will still be less than buying a new(er) comparative vehicle... and considering you are saying you don't like anything else on the market (if i understood your post correctly) why is this even a question? :)
Fuel consumption is bad, i know, but you didn't buy a car like this to worry about that, otherwise you'd buy a prius...
if i were you, i'd get more mods into the car and continue enjoying it...

I don't have aftermarket boards I have OEM. As Twins stated they are the only way to go. Only reason to sell would be to get some $ value out of it ahead of inevitable repairs. Like I said I am inclined to keep her. Anything aside from tranny I should look out for? Twins do you have a reputable Indy in our area that you have used?

The only worth replacement for my 4.8iS is the E70 X5M. I would keep it if I were you.

I have had great luck with Ricauto in Kensington, MD. Talk with Junior (he's the owner).

I don't have a recommendation for a shop in VA.

Kensington isn't that far from me... I'm basically in DC so thats only a 30 min drive. Thanks for the tip!

Since I'm 95% to keeping my baby.... anybody got some worthwhile performance mods to mention? I know that there is almost no bang for the buck, but I would love to throw some money at the 4.4 considering from the outside she looks like a 4.6/8

Dinan parts and software ;)

I have Dinan CAI, throttle body, exhaust, strut bar, pedal covers, stage 3 software. Pretty much all they have for the 4.8iS except the Brembo BBK. They are part of the reason why I bought the SAV

I never buy brand new cars. Too much depreciation for the first 2-3 years. Plus the look hasn't won me over yet. I might schedule a test drive just to see how it feels.
