If you yell "The light's green!" or "move your ass!" the horn automatically blows!!

Not really, but wouldn't it be nice?:nanana:

I've found out today if you have 2008 MY with Premium Sound Package (which means you have 6-disk DVD changer), you can just dump your music on a DVD disk - as a regular "data" disk with directories (for album/artist name) and files for each song (.mp3 or .wma work ok, did not test other formats), and put that DVD in the changer - voila, you will get ~2000 songs on 4.7GB DVD disk, nicely organized.... Loving it !

^ nice - thx for the confirmation... but I think you should specify it's the premium sound pkg, not the premium package. ;)

I still don't think the premium sound pkg is worth $1700 though :(

Just found this one today by accident. I was parked waiting in my car waiting for my wife to come out of the store. An old lady walks by my car and slams right into the driver's side side mirror. I thought she was gonna take the thing off. Luckily nothing happened. I pressed the button to have the side mirrors folded in (wish that was an automatic feature when the car is locked). When my wife came back, I backed out and started driving. I completely forgot that I didn't unfold the mirrors. Once I got out of the shopping center and onto the open road (probably hitting 20-30 mph). The mirrors automatically unfolded out. That's pretty cool.

Oddly enough, most of those features are documented in the Owner's Manual.

It's a long, but interesting, read.

New Steering wheel buttons on 2010 ?

Has anone noticed the new buttons on the steering wheel for 2010 ? On page 10 of the manual, it appears that the two buttons that you could self-program on the 2009, are now dedicated to "next entertainment source" and "air circulation".

This is an interesting thread; thought I'd bump it and ask if there are any other changes worth posting in 2010s? Of course I'll read the manual. Mine is due "completed" on Wednesday but I've already downloaded the manual to get a head-start as it will take time to get across the country.

Seems the windows auto down by pressing the keyfob could be problematic with keyfob in a pants pocket (unintentional button press/hold); another thread someone had this happen and the vehicle got soaked from rain! Wonder if there is a way to disable this feature?! Someone mentioned USA versions are prevented from keyfob button press windows all-auto-up due to liability. I don't understand this if there is an obstruction sensor. And, it seems that button press all-up (and roof close) would be a very handy feature - more so than express all-down. I didn't get comfort access so can't use that window feature (unless something has changed for 2010).

BMWs have had this particular feature for YEARS. I would not think there is a problem with windows going down while keys are in your pocket. In the several BMWs I have had, I have never had the windows automatically going down. One would have to press the key for many seconds for the windows to go down.

This feature is also offered on my 2007 Acura TL-S. I've never had a problem either.

Just thought I'd re-bump this thread. The e53 thread is awesome but looks like a bunch of changes in e70. And, with the new iDrive some keyfob features are now changeable thru iDrive.

E53 thread mentions hidden storage in rear interior side panels and under console. Don't know if those are in the e70 and/or 2010 models. I'll KNOW soon tho (hopefully!).

Anyone who went from e53 to e70 want to provide some more updates? For those interested, thought i'd repost the e53 hidden features thread link (for convenience): http://www.Xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...es-e53-x5.html
