same thing happened to me waiting for the m5 kit , i was the 1st to say yes i want one , and got bored with the car before the kit was ever released !! :rofl:

Well, after reading several very positive reviews about the BSW stage 1 kits in other models I decided to order this kit. Let's hope the end of may the kit wil truly see the light of day. And I did something I never do normally. I paid in advance. I'll keep you posted as soon as this comes in.

Just got an e-mail that the kit needs more finetuning and delivery is rescheduled to the 30th of august :(

Let's hope it will be shipped in august :thumbup:

We were on schedule but discovered a flaw in the speaker basket design related to cooling. To be honest, it probably never would have presented an issue at all, but we want our products to be PERFECT and withstand every possible environment, so we made the decision to correct this issue and delay the product release even though it will cost us in the end. It's just the right thing to do for our customers. We will be keeping you guys updated!

So if one has the base sound system in a 2010 X535d, what is actually in the kit? It appears there are no tweeters in the base sound system as shipped from the factory, so does the kit consist of just four door speakers at about $125 per speaker?

How sad. I waited until the price went from $419.99 to $589.99, and I just checked the website a few days ago.

Alas, I missed the sale, so I'll keep my originals (or give Crutchfield a call).

$170 increase in price the day the speakers FINALLLYY get here is a cash grab, if you ask me.

That is correct you do not have OEM Tweeter Mounts(or the tweeters there). Our upgrade will not only replace your 4" speakers currently present but we include the trim pieces, mounts, brackets etc to mount tweeter. Of course we include the tweeters as well.

So Base Audio you will receive both the midranges and the tweeters. And the pieces to complete the install.

The 419.99 was a "Pre-Order" price. IE you are getting a deal because you are placing your order before it is made available. We have done this on almost all of ours products. For instance our new d110.e46c/s was 499.99 during the pre-order phase. The standard pricing is 699.99. We are not doing it as a 'cash grab' but simply allowing those that are interested to get a better price as an early adopter. Many users here and others took us up on that offer. Their packages are leaving out the door tomorrow.

I would be wary with crutchfield. Their 'fitment' guides on a vast majority of BMWs are simply wrong. Many of their reps will have potential customers call me or BSW. If you wanted to go with a different solution and wanted to bounce the idea off me I would be happy to help. We don't just provide support for customers buying our products. We are here to help.
