BTW that was quick. I may have to resort to Italian pastries and a short skirt to get better service at my dealer. Although I still think that in my case, the short skirt might just frighten the staff :rolleyes:

I called yesterday afternoon, brought it in at 8:30 this morning and was done at 11:00. I love Open Road, they take care of me all the time. I don't get $500 over invoice pricing, but I'd rather pay a few more $ for the purchase and get superior service.

Glad they took care of you. My local dealer has great service, but for some reason, has trouble receiving parts for my diesel...

The dealer I purchased my car from in St. Louis has crappy service...

It's useless. Mine said all systems OK, no warning messages.

Some codes identify things that impact the performance of the vehicle, while other codes only impact the emissions of the vehicle. But they all trigger the CEL/MIL. I suspect the check display only shows those which impact the performance of the vehicle, and need to be corrected ASAP, or which require the vehicle be stopped/parked.

I guess it would be too much to ask of the super-sophisticated BMW diagnostic system and iDrive info screens to even acknowledge the illumination of a warning light on the dash board. And heaven forbid, suggest what the owner should do about it -- e.g. call your dealer -- without having to pullout the 2009 X5 owner's manual which OBTW incorrectly identifies the engine light symbol as only for CANADA* :rolleyes:

Well I checked my OBD and found these 7 faults (I'll be making an appt to the dealer) - see attachments. I don't know what they mean.

As I posted in another thread I bought a new OBD II code scanner to capture the code(s) prior to taking our X5 35d into the dealer. The only code found was P007B which roughly sounds like a faulty Air Temp Sensor. I'm guessing this is the same one that failed on your 35d.

Could you confirm whether this is the part number of the Air Temp Sensor you had to wait so long for? I'd really appreciate it. And I'm pretty sure others would too :)

WOW that's a lot of fault codes for a practically new vehicle!

If I am reading this right, only one of them will actually turn on a warning light. The 2nd one "Diesel Engine module" code "4B25".

Please post when you know more.
