BMW dealers cannot 'change' software content- they load in approved programs and that is it- no twiddling with values, tables, etc.

Don't know. I picked up the X late Friday night after the service deptarment was closed and the paperwork wasn't done. I called Monday to ask what triggered the CEL and the above is what they told me. They mailed me the paperwork, I'll let you know what it says when I get it.

They are keeping her overnight. Some kind of vacuum leak. Will update tomorrow.

Now it's a hole in the intake boot. Which for some reason needed a BMW engineers approval for repair. The engineer was there today, part will be in tomorrow and I can get her tomorrow night.

So much for having the part in the morning. It's is on national backorder....:tsk:

I am not happy. Won't know the deal with the part until tomorrow and I can't drive it the way it is. I'm going to blow up this X3, trying to jump on it the way I jump on the X6.
