Do you have a PDF version which you can post ?
TIA.

I've got it but can't post it - size exceeds my (non-premium-member) pdf upload limit (doc=3+mb, upload limit=781kb).

FYI - the accessories catalogue PDF is expected in Sep '10.

Dunno about costings.

New X5 being delivered this month

Hi all,

Picking up mine this month. Swapped out of a 35d which was on order for a 40d.

Platinum Grey, with 20" and running boards. Only other fruit is adaptive lights as everything else is standard. Not badly priced for an updated model.

Just been to Europe and spoken to a few owners of the 40d and 30d over there. Fuel Consumption has been a little disappointing for them given the hype. One owner told me on the first 8000km their 30d (new LCI model) was giving them around 12l/100km in a mix of city and inter city travel.

You won't get the economy that they state, because it's for a bare X5 with 18" wheels, no options and air-con off. The more options you have on & running the worse the economy. I have had 3 x X5 E70 in the last 3 years and every one has gotten worse economy than the last one as the more options I placed on each newer model.

The best economny I got was from my E53 3.0d sport, its been down hill from there.

The ADR fuel consumption test is not even done on the road. It's a simulated driving cycle done on a lab rolling-road. My take on it is that the car manufacturers, BMW just being one, are getting smarter to beat the test. The figure quoted is not what BMW says the car will get on the road, it's just the figure that the car will get when subjected to the government test.

When it come to free-enterprise industry vs government bureaucrats, the free enterprise industry guys will outwit the bureaucrats every time.

welcome to the forum!

thats great news..i still haven't seen the new platinum grey colour in person yet. you've picked the right colour as i think the sapphire black and AW are very common nowadays.

the 40d comes in a standard sport pack...aka 40d sport, however I believe you could add the extra M bodykit if you prefer the more aggressive wheels, fully colour-coded bumper etc.

we've already received a call from the dealer a couple of days ago to arrange for a test drive on the 30d and 40d, mrs and i are gonna have a look at them this weekend!

Thanks, Ive been reading the forum for a while now, but didnt have too much to contribute at the time. Sapp Black looks great, but I think Plt Grey is a nice compromise when unwashed or in the heat of summer. As Ive seen the new model in Europe in the past few weeks, I thought I'd add my 2cents. The new roof racks looks great in the brushed aluminium but not so good in the black, they look a little too plastic IMHO. The new LED lights at the rear are neither hear or there. The new corona rings do look good though, contrasting starkly with the older yellow ones..

A good mate of mine has just come back from the Aussie press launch of the LCI update that was held this week and where he drove the 30d, 40d, 35i and 50i back to back. His words: " I can't understand why you'd want anything more than the 30d. All the performance you need and cheap enough so you can still dial up the options you want."

A wise mate ...

I read an article in the Age today that pretty much concurs ..... Now that base model has some great Kw and torque, and efficiency it makes a lot of sense. There's a view that 80% of people will opt for the 'entry' 30d model.

am glad that i got the 3d, it is more than enough for everyday stuff. havent regreted it one bit.
