Off Road in the X

Did a little off road-ing in Arches National Park, UT. I have to say, the X handled itself beautifully. Here are 3 vids. Enjoy!

Cool vids MystikBlueX3! Bet you had a blast.

You're the FIRST person I've seen that has the same wheels I have! (Style 114)

...i have rougher terrain in my back yard
x3 = not suitable for off roading
did anyone happen to see that top gear episode when
they took the x3 off roading?

Yeah, I saw it. Not a fair assement in my opinion. Sure the X3 (Like your X5) wasn't intended for hard off-roading but getting it stuck in the boggy English countryside is something that could happen to any vehicle especially on street tires. I've seen Jeeps get stuck in the mud at a levee overflow area where I used to ride dirt bikes as a kid. I suppose they weren't suitable either...

BTW, didn't they try to pull it out with a Land Rover and failed? As I recall they had to get a tractor. Nor did they show the Land Rover going through the same area. (Gee, I wonder why... )

FWIW, I've passed Land Rovers stuck on an icy hill in my X3 and I'm running on performance tires! As was intened I have no plans to go rock crawling or mud bogging in it but a little light off-roading is always fun.

yea i actually took the my old x5 (e53) actual off roading once while camping....
not a good idea considering the ground clearance on the x
ended up denting the muffler, and bottoming out a few times, painfully accelerating as i hear the sound of metal to rock
shit happens when ur with 10 guys, few brews, in the wilderness
however it did alot better than my buddy's s10
