Luckily, we have the clear Euro lights as standard here in NZ.

Well, I just realized both of mine are burned out. What’s the best halogen bulb to put in there. I’ll go stock yellow. I want to see the look on it. The headlights will need to be redone soon. I’m not sure if I can save them. They have a clear spray coat on them. A detail guy tried to take it off but gave up. Too much work to polish off the clear spray on clear.

See post #4 for "the best halogen bulb" to put in the AE. I just went with some generic 12v 10W BA9S halogen from eBay and they had held up pretty well in the past 4-5 years.

I have used no-name and Osram bulbs (#64113) but the best I've found so far (in terms of performance and longevity) are the Flosser 12v 10W BA9S Halogen bulbs (#4010).

Remeber that these are halogen bulbs and so need to be kept clean. Wipe them clean with isopropyl alcohol once you've fitteed them to the reflector.
Any idea if this would fit on the E66 ?

Can't be 100% sure but it looks like the answer is yes - the same bulb should fit. Seems like changing them is a bit of a drama though - I may never complain about any maint. procedue on the E53 again!
