It hit -7°f last night so this morning we encountered the frozen ccv issue. Oil oozing out of the tailpipes, nice.

With luck we'll find the insulated line to avoid this garbage in the future.

I just love how the M62 4.4 liter engines of the E39s had the CCV separator on the inside of the engine behind the timing cover and then went external on the 4.6is? Not aware of this being a problem on the E39s so why did BMW change this for the X5s with 4.6is?

Hey Plattus - ever do the CCA events around Seattle? I swear I've seen your 540it a couple times.

I haven't yet because I'm not a member and always thought the bmwcca guys would kick me out. I did do a XXX drive-in dinner last year. Just caught the last part. Then 1 e39 m5, an e34 an e30 and I left about the same time heading to Seattle. We played a little on 90,especially through the tunnels.

I cross Snoqualmie at least 2 times a week for the last 8 years so it's possible.

Me too. My indy has her and I'm the wife's Über currently. She hates my car's exhaust so it's kind of fun watching her cringe when I get on it.

Fingers crossed.

I'm a member but their events are pretty welcoming - no one has demanded my papers. Besides, the venues want the extra business.

XXX is right by my house - I love their constant car show rotation.

Next BMW meet up there I'll swing by then, thanks.
I won't be bringing the X5 unfortunately. It'll be just the wagon showing up.

The Mrs. Has had it with repairs and the fun factor for her isn't associated with the cost of parts, down time or repairs that put her in a rental at least 2 times a year. I can't convince her that it's part of the fun of having older bimmers, you can work on them and beat on them once up and running.

This last little ccv line freezing has her looking at a jeep... Oh the humanity. I hope they've improved since I sold them.

Anyone want a black on black 4.6is X5 with ALL the preventative maintenance done over the last 2 years at the tune of some $14.5k all receipts totaled?

All offers entertained.
