Hey crystalworks, excited to see how this looks on your X5.
Small observation, you may want to obscure your name and address from your photo of the tires above.

Update: Wheels arrive tomorrow!!! I also weighed the front and rear tires...
Front Tires Nitto Nt420's 285/40/20: 36.2lbs Rear Tires Pirelli Pzero 325/35/20: 36.8lbs The wheels are coming in two packages, each 69lbs. So, factoring in packaging I'm guessing the wheels are ~31lbs each. I'll get an exact (as exact as a bathroom scale can be anyway) weight when they arrive. Also, ordered a nice HD camera/DVR system for the front of the house. This is the third vehicle break in since we moved in 11 years ago and we are tired of it. This one did the most damage and really pissed my wife and me off. For anyone curious about the carnage... $1500ish in damage for a $50 (generously) stereo that was purchased 2005ish.

That sucks man. Sad that shit still goes on. Especially on your own property.

Wow dude I am sorry to see that. Let me know if you need any help finding parts. There is usually a good supply of parts up here in the PNW if you have a hard time finding local.
And fwiw, I believe there are still a few new dashes left from BMW and they are made out of a newer material that doesn't crack. They are around 8-900 USD.

New dash is probably out of my current price range considering all the other outlays at the moment, but I'll keep it in mind for the future if I can't find anything nice that is used. I might just buy a parts car since I need a motor for this one anyway... current engine has 400,000ish miles on it and sounds like a diesel from the mid 80's. The piston slap is real...

No problem man. I'd be gutted. They just destroyed things that didn't even need to be touched, it's crazy.
On a side note, we have the same sub! And is that a Luke box? Looks like yours has handles so you can pull it out. Mine does not, and Luke had to drop kick it in to place (he is not a little guy either). I don't think I could get it out if I needed to, let alone a theif trying to do it at night.

That IS a Luke box... it's bolted in through the firewall so they would have needed tools to remove it. I do all my installs that way whether I build the box or I buy one. Previous thieves couldn't get the box I built out of my turbo 318is either. That's a beast... 12" Ascendant Audio Havoc. I think the sub weighs just shy of 50lbs. Used to easily flex the roof if I so desired... And you're right... they destroyed things that didn't even need to be touched. It was definitely some kids not familiar with e30's just looking for some tunes for a high school beater I'm sure.
