Front OE Style 168 w/ Bridgestone RFT 275/40/20: 78.6lbs as a complete assembly. Rear OE Style 168 w/ Bridgestone RFT 315/35/20: 83.3lbs as a complete assembly. Front Forgestar CS5V w/ Nitto NT420 285/40/20: 60.4lbs just wheel and tire, not as assembled. Will get that later. Rear Forgestar CS5V w/ Pirelli Pzero 325/35/20: 64.6lbs just wheel and tire, not as assembled. Again, will get that later. EDIT: Will be doing full brakes next week. Will weigh the assemblies then to have a good comparison.

And this is where (I know this doesn't help) the BBKs with aluminum hats and calipers starts to shine. I wrote on here somewhere about the weight savings on my StopTech upgrade. The exciting thing here is that I can stop looking for some OEM wheels and start looking for lighter ones that look goo like yours. Has anyone here looked into a wheel upgrade as a performance factor? If yes, are you confident it would clear a BBK? I'm looking for 19" minimum, 20" ideal, and only if they were strong and light... 21"

I gave Forgestar the specs for BBK's 8POT 380mm/345mm kit and they said these would clear those during the ordering process... obviously anticipating going BBK of some sort in the future. Took these quick shots after washing her up. Will post better ones as soon as I can. The X is going in for paint correction on Thurs. so that should help the picture quality. ![]() ![]() ![]() Question for everyone... what do you think of the Forgestar center caps? I always rock OEM center caps on all of my aftermarket wheels but I'm not sure what to do with these. What say the internets? Also, got my garage opened back up to be a 2 car again... tearing down the laundry room built by the previous owners. Feels much better having 2 of the 6 cars in there. Security system is in (and great quality too, much better video quality than anticipated) and will be installed this weekend.

The Wheels look great and weight savings huge plus. I would not mess with the ride height. Looks good as is and yes I would install the BMW center caps. Keep the forgestar caps for nostalgia. |

Rule of thumb is that 100 lbs in weight reduction will improve 1/4 mile time by one tenth. In the case of a wheel there can be additional improvement if the the weight distribution is wheel center weighted. If the wheels are smaller in diameter there will be an additional 1/4 mile improvement. The opposite is true in each case.
