Could this then be the reason why the past week I've been hearing a lot of rattling from the back when the music is on?

Now that the weather has gotten much colder I have picked up this rattle also. I am going to see if mine are still adjustable or have the moved into the need to be replaced ASAP category.

I just ordered a set. Its gotten pretty bad lately and I just couldn't take it any more.

Is there no adjustment necessary upon install? Sounds like not from what I've read.

No adjustment, take off old and put in new.

They should be noticeably longer than the old stoppers.

Sweet deal.

I ordered them from FCP euro at 37 a piece. The next lowest was at BMW Fairfax at 36 a piece but $15 shipping.

Just an FYI and maybe it was a dud - but my right side is already "blown" so to speak - it just sits at the lowest position and I can manually pull the stopper in and out, something internal must have went on this thing, I noticed it yesterday when unloading my hatch - I'll be getting a replacement since it annoys me - I'm sure the BMW parts have a 12 month warranty and I'm sure I replaced it 13 months ago but no matter -

And on the left side, the screw in the middle of the stopper rusted out super fast, compared to the right - I may just get another full set and keep the left side thats still good as a spare

EDIT: I just ordered a fresh set from FCP (thanks Josh) because although my dealer gives great pricing they only were about 3 bucks cheaper apiece and I have to drive over there on Saturday mornings when I need parts, plus pay sales tax so at $74 for another pair its easy (and FCP warranties for life)

Wanted to be able to take the busted one and my still good one apart to see if I can figure out why it failed on the right side so quick
