I labeled the wiring coming off my engine and have the whole wiring harness laid out so now i'm tracing the wiring back to the ECU but any wiring diagrams on pins would be super helpful. Also, pm me on your motor mounts details. thanks ![]() Keep up the great work!!

What's the most challenging part about the wiring in this swap? Are there any weird CANBUS or EWS stuff to worry about?

Same as E39 pretty much. Speedo goes off of ABS Sensors, Depending on Fuel Setup if you can retain factory float you'll be fine there and tach is the same mod as the e39 with some light coding and repining a wire in the back of the cluster. EWS is unaffected because you leave the factory system in place.

Great, I'll have to get up to speed on what's all involved in the E39 swap.
I have a 2002 3.0 manual E53 that needs more power and I think an LM4 would be a nice option. For all the work, a 6.0 would be nice, but the stock ZF 5 speed can't handle much, and I've heard the NV125 is also a weak point. I ordered HP Tuners and got it at the beginning of July. We unlocked the security feature and we're able to turn the engine over while still having the GM fuel pump in a bucket along side the steering column, GM gas pedal and gauge cluster sitting beside the X5. Last week we got spark and last night we ran our majorly simplified wiring harness and Body Control Module inside the vehicle so if we wanted to, we could put the bumper and hood back on since the outside work is now done. This week will be fuel pump install and wiring plus ignition sorting and hooking up shift linkage. The GM gas pedal is also installed now.

I have a question that was brought up previously: Do the stock E53 rear axles match up to the M5/M6 diff output flanges, or do different output flanges need to be swapped in (i.e. E46 M3 Flanges)?
